Kathleen Gavin received her MFA in Dance from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts.  Her undergraduate degrees are from Rutgers University (BA in Journalism) and Mason Gross School of the Arts (BFA in Dance).  She has performed and choreographed professional work in the NYC area for twenty years.  Mrs. Gavin headed the dance program at the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High School (School of Performing Arts) for six years before coming to APA in 2009.  She is certified to teach Pilates mat classes and yoga.  She spearheaded a summer dance program at The American School in Switzerland where she taught for four summers. In 2010, she was a recipient of the National Arts Teachers Award.  She was voted APA Teacher of the Year in 2012.  Mrs. Gavin loves to dance herself and to teach others.  She taught at the College of St. Elizabeth for two years and has been an adjunct professor at Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts since 2010.
