Dawud D.H. Jackson is a choreographer, dance educator, and the founder of The Well Performance Project, a company providing intensive professional training and performance opportunities for young dancers. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in speech, theatre, and communications from Kean University and undertook postgraduate work in dance education at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts before embarking on his professional dance career.
Mr.Jackson's professional studies include Horton Technique, Laban movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals.
For more than 15 years, Mr. Jackson was a member and rehearsal director for several dance companies,in the Greater Metropolitan Area on stage and in music videos. He also is a dedicated educator, having taught Jazz, Latin, Zumba and Modern dance at Kean University for over 14 years. Choreography credits include numerous works for high-profile Kean University events, the Kean University Dance Ensemble, KDT, Newark Symphony Hall's Summer Performing Arts Academy, and Elite Preparatory School in Somerset. Prior to joining the dance faculty at UCAPA, Mr. Jackson served on the school's advisory board. He was a member of the American Dance Council at the Dance Africa Dance conference in Kigali, Rwanda, and taught dance workshops and choreographed for the Friends to Mankind, Dance4Charity in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mr. Jackson is a member of the National Dance Education Organization and Dance New Jersey,also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
