Welcome students! Science Club currently has two divisions: the Science Olympiad Division and the Physics Division. Science Club is open to students from grades 9-12. Students are required to attend meetings after school or during co-curricular period and participate in study and practice.
Science Olympiad has been on the leading edge of educational innovations since 1993. These innovations include high academic standards; demonstration of skills through performance testing; learning through hands-on, minds-on activities; cooperative learning through events that require teamwork; improved self-concept through success in achieving high standards and making applications and connections to the real world.
A regional tournament is held every January and the state tournament is held in March. Tournament teams are selected through tryout events.
Physics Club was founded in 2014 and has contributed to the second place award that Magnet's 2+-years physics team received in the NJ PhysicsBowl contest. We participate in two physics contest each year. The Physics Olympiad takes place at the end of January, and the PhysicsBowl takes place in early April. Participants will be selected based on tryout performances and meeting attendance.
