• Are cars your passion? If so, AUTO TECHNOLOGY at UCTECH is for you.

The course begins with an introduction that includes: safety, the use of hand and power tools, basic car care and service as well as the major concepts and procedures needed to professionally diagnose and repair today’s automobiles. AUTO TECHNOLOGY students receive in-depth training in four ASE areas: Brakes, Steering and Suspension, Electrical and Electronic Systems and Engine Performance. ASE is the nationally recognized organization that sets the standards of achievement and excellence for automotive technicians.

ASE is the most recognized, respected and prestigious certification that an Auto Technician can achieve. Although it is not a requirement of the course, all students are encouraged to take one or more ASE exams. Students who successfully pass an ASE exam can earn one year of work experience toward their permanent industry certification. Students interested in continuing their education can earn tech-prep credits toward an Associate of Applied Science degree at Brookdale Community College. New to the auto program is the conversion of a fully gas powered car to electric power. Students will learn about the GREEN TECHNOLOGIES used in the auto industry including electric and hybrid technology and how these innovations are changing the way cars are manufactured and serviced today.
