• AUTO TECHNOLOGY FUNDAMENTALS prepares students to diagnose and repair today’s automobiles. Areas of instruction include safety, the use of hand and power tools, basic car service, auto preparation and maintenance, engine principles, brakes, fuel, cooling and exhaust systems, electrical and electronic systems, shop management, as well as the use of shop computers
    using industry preferred software such as Mitchell on Demand.
    In keeping with the changing auto industry, students will learn about hybrid and electrical technology and how to implement GREEN TECHNOLOGY practices in the shop through recycling and using biodegradable chemicals and products. Students also work on skills needed to find and maintain employment and are being prepared for entry-level positions in the automotive industry. Students may also choose to continue their education in Auto Technology in order to become certified ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) technicians.
