Green Construction Technology
This program provides a great foundation for a number of career choices taught by two expert instructors. Students interested in Architecture or Engineering will find an understanding of sustainable materials and methods in Green Building to be invaluable when taking college level courses. Those students interested in pursuing careers in Construction Management, or a number of specialized trades will be able to take the skills directly to the job site. The class provides hands-on experience in all phases of residential construction through our affiliation with Habitat for Humanity.
The course covers Residential and Commercial Blueprint Reading, an introduction to International Building Codes, OSHA 30 Certification, masonry, carpentry,electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, all with an emphasis on the Green Technology we are embracing as the future of construction. Units in Renewable Energy Sources are also covered.
